Telemundo "La reina Del sur" Telenovela has strong launch

Latest telenovela, Telemundo, La Reina del Sur (Queen of the South), launched Monday with record numbers for the network.

Starring Kate del castillo, La Reina average 2.4 million viewers for the first episode with 1.5 million adult pivotal 18-49 demographic, making it the first of the most-watched network for a telenovela. SOAP also increased 22 percent in the second half hour in the 18-49 demo.

In women 18-49 demo, the Queen attracted to 779,000 and 755,000 in men 18-49.

La Reina is based on the novel by Arturo perez reverte, which focuses on Teresa Mendoza (del Castillo), which turns from a young innocent girl to a woman survived the harsh world of drug trafficking.
