Harry Connick Jr. returns to Broadway

Harry Connick Jr. return to Broadway this fall in a new production of on a clear day you can see Forever, it was announced Tuesday.

The candidate will be featured in Tony's natural production such as lead, which will feature a new book by Peter Parnell based on the book's original Alan Jay Lerner. Burton Lane wrote that Lerner wrote original music and texts.

Michael Mayer, who helmed musical Spring Awakening and Tony-winning American Idiot, reworked the musical and will be directed.

On a clear day centers on Dr. Mark Bruckner (Connick Jr.), a psychiatrist and lecturer, who unwittingly takes on the case of his life with David Gamble, Assistant of an eccentric florists. David put under hypnosis to help you quit smoking so he can move in with her boyfriend Warren discovers what he believes to be himself, David: self-possessed jazz singer 1940s Melinda Wells.

Liza Lerner joins Ira Pittelman, Tom Hulce and John Gore, Broadway Across America, Thomas b. McGrath and Beth Williams as producers.

On a clear day, opened on Broadway on 17 October 1965 and starred Barbara Harris as Daisy Gamble and John Cullum as Dr. Mark Bruckner, who were both nominated for Tonys. Vincente Minnelli adapted the musical into a film in 1970, with Barbra Streisand and Yves Montand.
