' Elite Squad ' Director to helm "robocop" Remake

José Padilha, Brazilian filmmaker behind films South American Elite Squad, is in talks to direct the Robocop movie project, which is the top priority of MGM reconstituted.

The study was meeting with directors last week-the others on the list included Robert rodriguez and David slade – with a top policeman emerging Padilha.

Robocop is a remake of the movie action sci-fi 1987 which introduced Paul verhoeven in Hollywood and characterized by a policeman who is brought back from the brink of death in the form of a cyborg no memories of his previous life.

The project was under development at MGM when the Division of the company's production was overseen by Mary father and also Darren aronofsky was attached to direct.

MGM again is trying to do three photos to begin with, two in the range of 30 million dollars and one in the range of $ 80 million. Robocop has the slot.
