Casey Patterson promoted to EVP at MTV Networks Entertainment Group

Casey Patterson was promoted to executive vp event production, talent development and studio relations for the entertainment of MTV Networks.

Patterson was previously senior vp at Spike TV and TV Land.

The entertainment group is comprised of a multi-platform portfolio of brands of Comedy Central, Spike TV and TV Land cable channels and websites, as well as Internet sites Atom.com and GameTrailers.com.

Patterson, headquartered in New York, is responsible for creating and executing "definition of" event planning and management of talented celebrities in MTV Networks Entertainment Group, and the relations of the motion picture for three goals within the group. In her expanded role, Patterson has developed and co-executive produce the Comedy Awards, which honor the best film comedy, actors, TV series, digital content and stand-up and will air on April 10, through multiple MTV Networks, including COMEDY CENTRALTVTerra, Spike TV, CMT, Logo, Nick at Nite and VH1.

"Over the past several years, Casey Patterson has overseen the development and launch of some of the most interesting events and original television," said Doug herzog, President of MTV Networks Entertainment Group, to which she refers. "The vision and passion that she brings to these events are unparalleled."

The first woman hired to Spike TV, in February 2003, Patterson was instrumental in the launch and development of the network.  In addition, Patterson oversees Spike TV's Video Game Awards, Kids Choice Awards and Scream Awards, which he co-created. For each show, in addition to her role as network, Patterson serves as executive producer.

In TV Land, Patterson oversees the production of the TV land awards, which pays tribute to classic and contemporary luminaries in television, music and movies, as well as the AFI Life Achievement Award telecast, which will honor Morgan Freeman in June 2011.

In addition, Patterson created Spike TV National Fatherhood outreach campaign, "real dad".

Before Spike TV and TV Land, Patterson, a producer of the Emmy-nominated, also served as Director of talent development at VH1 and was a talented producer for Fox Billboard Music Awards, NBC's concert for America and CMT Flameworthy awards and a co-creator of the syndicated series The Sharon Osbourne Show.
